About Merrick's Walk for EDIN
Merrick’s Walk for EDIN is an annual event held in honor of Merrick Ryan who passed away in 2000 of complications from anorexia. She was only 19 years old when her life was ended prematurely by this terrible illness. Merrick was an alumna of The Galloway School and was a freshman at Bates College in Maine when she died. She was beloved by her family and by all who knew her.
Each Fall, in Merrick's memory, EDIN partners with the Galloway School to host a 2.5 mile walk that is attended by more than 350 friends, families, and partner organizations. Our goal in hosting Merrick’s Walk is to raise awareness about eating disorders and to remember those who have lost their battle with these terrible diseases.
Supporting Eating Disorders Awareness
Funds raised through Merrick’s Walk go to supporting EDIN’s mission of providing eating disorders education and awareness in schools and communities across Atlanta. As such, EDIN is deeply grateful for your gift. Whether it’s a ticket purchased to walk with us in Merrick’s memory, setting up your own Merrick’s Walk fundraising team, or a donation in any amount, EDIN sincerely thanks you.
